Hi Steve,

first of all thanks for your feedback and your motivating words! I'm sure I will need more of them during the course of this project.

You are pointing out one of the most critical issues - how to make the relevant content easily accusable to the users. I was thinking about a tow-step process. First let the users rate the contents quality via a five star rating and flag inappropriate content with a separate button. Second allow to filter and sort the content by rating, popularity, author and the like. Similar patterns can be found at Amazon or special review portals. This way I’m trying to delegate the responsibility for managing the contributions as far as possible to the community.

I admit that this is some kind of experiment for me as I have no idea if it really works. Due to the fact that 'social quality management' is vital for the success of the site I plan to dedicate one of the next blog entries to that topic.

Hi

Seems that you really have put a lot of time in building the concept for your new site. Everything makes perfect sense - only one thing makes me think.
So, if many authors publish on the site, you are going to let the users vote on the quality of the articles? How will you use the gathered information afterwards? Display "bad" posts at the end of a search? Clearly, not every post will have the same quality - as you said.

Keep up the great work!
